Packing element comprising an illuminated curtain
The present invention relates to a vehicle lining element, of the type comprising: - a curtain movable between an open position and a closed position, said curtain extending between a first end and a second end, - at least one guide element of light extending into said curtain and at least a portion of which is visible from at least one side of the curtain, said light guide member comprising an entrance tip projecting from the first end of the curtain, - at least a light source arranged to inject light into said guide member through said inlet tip.
It is known to hide a storage volume by a retractable curtain so as to access the storage volume. Such a curtain is for example provided to close the storage volume of a central console of a motor vehicle. However, when the console is closed by the curtain, the surface of the curtain is an unused surface and may look unattractive to a user of the vehicle.
To overcome this aesthetic problem, EP-2 527 202 A1 describes the lighting of a curtain by means of a light source placed under the curtain.
However, such a device is not very flexible to use and can not adapt to different modes of operation since the illuminated area of the curtain depends on the position of the curtain with respect to the light source.
An object of the present invention is to provide an optimization of the use of the surface of the curtain, whatever the position of this curtain. To this end, the present invention relates to a vehicle lining element of the aforementioned type, in which at least a portion of the entry endpiece is movable in a light guide arranged to transmit light from the light source to the light source. input tip, said light guide extending between said light source and said first end of the curtain in the open position, said input nozzle moving in said light guide when the curtain moves between the open position and the closed position of the curtain.
The light guide thus makes it possible to continuously transmit the light of the light source to the light-guiding element whatever the position of the curtain. The curtain can be illuminated in all its positions, which allows for example to improve the appearance and / or to provide lighting storage volume. The device is robust and flexible and the light losses between the light source and the light guide element are reduced because the input tip is permanently at least partially in the light guide. The vehicle lining element according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following characteristics taken separately or in any technically possible combination: the entry endpiece extends between a first end and a second end, said first end extending adjacent the first end of the curtain, said second end extending into the light guide in all positions of the curtain between the retracted position and the open position; the light guide comprises an inner wall surrounding the part of the tip extending in the light guide, the said inner wall being reflective so that the said internal wall transmits the light rays of the light source to the tip of the light; 'Entrance ; the inner wall has a shape substantially complementary to that of the inlet end piece; the light source comprises a light source and a focussing device arranged to focus the light rays emitted by the light source towards the input nozzle; - The inlet end abuts against the light source in the open position of the curtain; the light-guiding element is overmolded by the curtain; - A rail for sliding the curtain between the open position and the closed position; the light guide extends from one end of said rail; - The packing element comprises a storage volume, said curtain masking said storage volume in the closed position and releasing an access to said storage volume in the open position. Other aspects and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example, and with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a portion of a vehicle center console comprising a lining element according to the invention, the curtain being in the closed position; FIG. 2 is a schematic sectional representation along the plane ll-ll of the
Fig. 1, - FIG. 3 is a diagrammatic sectional representation of the packing element of FIG. 2, the curtain being in the open position, and - FIG. 4 is an enlargement of the area IV of FIG. 3.
In the description, the terms "before", "back", "above", "below", etc. are defined with respect to the usual directions of a motor vehicle mounted. The term "longitudinal" is defined relative to the front-rear direction of a motor vehicle, the term "transverse" is defined relative to the width of the vehicle. The elevation direction Z is defined with respect to the height of the vehicle. The longitudinal direction X is substantially perpendicular to the elevation direction Z.
FIG. 1 shows a central console part of a motor vehicle 1, in particular intended to be arranged between the two front seats of the vehicle. The console 1 comprises a lining element 2 of a motor vehicle according to the invention for masking its storage volume. The vehicle lining element 2 comprises a curtain 4 and at least one rail 6 making it possible to slide the curtain 4.
The rail 6 is for example integrated in the structure of the console 1, that is to say that the rail 6 is made in one piece with the rest of the console 1. The rail 6 extends around a storage volume 8 defined by the console 1 so that the curtain 4 can slide in the rail 6 between a closed position (Figures 1 and 2), in which the curtain 4 masks the storage volume 8 from the outside of the console 1, and an open position (Fig. 3), in which the curtain 4 frees access to the storage space 8.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the rail 6 comprises a closed part 10 and an open part 12. The closed part 10 allows to receive the curtain 6 while masking the latter from outside the console 1 and since the storage space 8. In other words, the portion of the curtain 6 extending into the closed portion 10 of the rail 6 is not visible from the outside. The closed portion 10 of the rail 6 forms a receiving space of the rail 6 in which the curtain 4 can slide when moved to its open position, as shown in FIG. 3. The receiving space has a shape substantially complementary to that of the curtain 4 and is delimited by a front wall 14 and a rear wall 16 connected to one another by two side walls 18 arranged on both sides. other curtain 4 in the transverse direction. The rear wall 16 also forms a front wall 20 of the storage space 8 and a bottom wall 22 of the housing, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The front wall 14 is substantially parallel to the rear wall 16. Thus, the section of the closed portion 10 in a plane containing the longitudinal direction and the elevation direction has substantially the shape of an L and the portion 10 closed rail 6 runs along part of the storage volume 8. The closed portion 10 of the rail 6 is therefore compact.
The front walls 14 and rear 16 are interrupted at the transition between the closed portion 10 and the open portion 12 of the rail 6 so that only the side walls 18 extend and form the open portion 12 of the rail 6. In the open part 12 of the rail 6, the side walls 18 extend substantially in the longitudinal direction on either side, in the transverse direction, of an access opening to the storage volume. Thus, the reception space of the rail formed by the closed portion 10 of the rail 6 opens into the access opening to the storage volume so that the portion of the curtain 4 extending into the open portion 12 of the rail 6 and leaving the reception space is visible from the outside of the console 1, as shown in FIG. 1. The side walls 18 have, for example, in section a U-shape arranged to allow the sliding of a transverse edge of the curtain 6 in each side wall 18.
The curtain 4 is flexible so that it can follow the curves of the rail 6 and follow the change of plane between the closed portion 10 and the open portion 12 of the rail. The curtain 4 comprises an inner face 24 facing the storage volume 8 and an outer face 26 facing the outside of the console 1. The curtain 6 extends, in the longitudinal direction, between a first end 28 and a second end 30 and, in the transverse direction, between two transverse edges. The first end 28 of the curtain 4 is arranged to move only inside the closed portion 10 of the rail 6 between the closed and open positions of the curtain 4. When the curtain 4 moves to the closed position, the first end 28 approaches the open portion 12 of the rail 6 while it moves away when the curtain 4 moves to the open position. The second end 30 is arranged to move only inside the open portion 12 of the rail 6 between the closed and open positions of the curtain 4. When the curtain 4 moves to the open position, the second end 30 becomes closer to the closed portion 10 of the rail 6, while it moves away when the curtain 4 moves to the closed position. As indicated above, the transverse edges of the curtain 4 are adapted to slide in the side walls 18 of the curtain 12.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the curtain 4 comprises a gripping element 32 projecting from the outer face 26 in the vicinity of the second end 30 of the curtain 4 so as to allow a user to move the curtain 4 between the open and closed positions. Alternatively, the movement of the curtain 4 could be automated.
At least one light guiding element 34 is arranged in the curtain 4 in order to illuminate at least a portion of one of the faces of the curtain 4. The light guiding element 34 is for example formed by one or more optical fibers or a light sheet formed for example of optical fibers woven together or contiguous to each other so as to form a light surface extending over at least a portion of the length of the curtain 4 between the first and second ends 28 and 30 and at least a portion of width of the curtain 4 between the transverse edges. The guide element 34 extends in the curtain 4 between the inner 24 and outer 26 faces and the curtain 4 is arranged so that at least a portion of the guide element 34 is visible from at least one of these faces. For this purpose, and according to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the curtain 4 comprises for example one or more slots 36 made in at least one of the faces of the curtain 4 so as to let the guide element 34 show through these slots 36 so that the guide element 34 is visible from the outside of the slots 36. Alternatively, or in other areas of the curtain 4, the curtain 4 may include translucent areas through which the light guide element 34 is visible. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, several slots 36 extending in the transverse direction, through which the guide member 34, are formed in the outer face 26 of the curtain 4 so that the outer face of the curtain is illuminated. However, it is understood that the shape of the slots or translucent areas could be different and alternatively or in addition, slots and / or translucent areas can be made in the inner face 24 of the curtain 4 to illuminate the volume 8. The guiding element 34 is for example overmolded by the curtain 4 which is made by injection of a plastic material in a mold cavity in which the guide member 34 is disposed. When slots 36 are made, the shape of the molding cavity is arranged to allow the realization of these slots.
According to one embodiment, several light guiding elements 34 extend in the curtain 4 so as to obtain a variable illumination of the curtain 4, for example by changing the color of the light flowing in the guiding element 34 and / or by illuminating each guide element 34 sequentially.
The or each guide element 34 comprises a light inlet 38 through which light can be injected into the guide element 34. The light inlet 38 is for example formed by an end of an optical fiber forming the remainder of the guiding element 34 or being arranged to inject the light into the light ply. The light inlet 38 extends at one end of a light entry tip 40 projecting from the first end 28 of the curtain 4. The inlet tip 40 extends in a perpendicular direction in the transverse direction in the continuity of the curtain 4 between a first end 42, extending in the vicinity of the first end 28 of the curtain and a second end 44, remote from the first end 28 of the curtain, and to which extends 1 light entry 38, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The inlet nozzle 40 is for example formed by a tubular element surrounding the optical fiber at the end of which the light inlet 38 is formed. The outer surface of the inlet tip 40 is, for example, opaque in order to prevent light leakage outside the inlet nozzle 40. According to one embodiment, the inlet nozzle 40 is formed of one piece with the rest of the curtain 4.
At least a portion of the inlet tip 40 is slidably mounted in a light guide 46 extending between a light source 48 and the first end 28 of the curtain 4 when in the open position, as shown in FIG. Fig. 3. By "at least a part" is meant that a portion of the inlet nozzle 40 is permanently in the light guide 46, this part being longer or shorter depending on the position of the curtain between its open and closed position, as will be understood from reading the following.
The light guide 46 is arranged to transmit the light from the light source 48 to the light inlet 38. To do this, the inner wall 50 of the light guide 46 is a reflecting surface and the outer wall 52 of the light guide 46 light 46 is an opaque surface so that the light rays emitted by the light source 48 are reflected within the light guide 46 and guided to the light inlet 38. In addition, the inner wall 50 is for example a shape substantially complementary to that of the inlet nozzle 40.
The length of the light guide 46 and that of the inlet tip 40 are arranged so that a portion of the tip 40 in the vicinity of its second end 44 always extends in the light guide 46, whatever The position of the curtain 4. More particularly, these lengths are provided so that in the closed position of the curtain 4, the light inlet 38 is disposed in the light guide 46 as shown in FIG. 2. Thus, irrespective of the position of the curtain, the guide element 34 can always be supplied with light by the light source 48 through the light guide 46 and the inlet nozzle 40. embodiment shown in FIG. 3, in the open position of the curtain 4, the inlet tip 40 abuts against the light source 48, and the first end 28 of the curtain 28 abuts against one end of the light guide 46. Thus, according to this embodiment, the light guide 40 extends from one end of the rail 6, more particularly from the end of the closed portion 10 opposite the open portion 12. However, it is understood that the light guide 46 could be sized differently as the light input 28 remains in the light guide 46 in all positions of the curtain 4.
The light source 48 is arranged at one end of the light guide 46, remote from the first end 28 of the curtain 4, and is arranged to inject light into the light guide 46 so that this light enters the element guide 34 by the light inlet 38, as previously described. For this purpose and as shown in FIG. 4, the light source 48 comprises for example a light source 54, arranged to emit light, and a focusing device 56 arranged to direct the light from the light source 54 to the light inlet 38, as represented by the light rays 58 of FIG. 4. The light source 54 is for example formed by a light emitting diode. The focusing device 56 comprises for example a lens 60 and a light funnel 62 arranged to direct the light rays of the lens 60 towards the axis of the light guide 46.
Thus, as shown in FIG. 4, in the open position of the curtain 4, the light rays 58 emitted by the light source 54 penetrate directly into the light inlet 38 which bears against the small base of the light funnel 46. When the curtain 4 moves between open position to the closed position, the sliding of the curtain 4 in the rail 6 causes the sliding of the inlet nozzle 40 in the light guide 40 so that the inlet tip away from the source 48. The rays then enter the light entry 38 after reflection against the inner wall 50 of the light guide 54. In the closed position of the curtain, the light of the light source 48 always feeds the entrance end 40 since the light entry 38 is always in the light guide 46, as shown in FIG. 2. Once the light has entered the light entry 38, the light is then propagated throughout the guide member 34.
It should be noted that the inlet tip 40 is flexible as the curtain so as to follow the curves of the rail 6. Thus, the light guide 46 and the light source 48 can be arranged under the storage volume 8 of so as to limit the bulk of the lining element 1.
Thus, irrespective of the position of the curtain 4, the light guiding element 34 is always powered by the light source 48 when the light source 48 is turned on by means of the light guide 46 and the input nozzle 40.
When the curtain 4 includes a plurality of light guiding members 34, as many light guides 46 and light sources are provided to illuminate each of the guide members 34 as shown in FIG. 1.
Thus, by providing light sources emitting light of different colors and / or sequentially supplying the light sources, the appearance of the illuminated face (s) of the curtain 4 can be modified.
According to a particular aspect of the invention, the lighting of the curtain can be modulated according to particular information on the vehicle by integrating the guide elements 34 to a display system of at least one information relating to a vehicle, as described in document FR-3,022,509. The packing element 2 has been described in connection with a central vehicle console. However, it is understood that it could be installed in another part of the vehicle. The shape of the rail 6 has been given only by way of example and other forms may be envisaged, for example depending on the part of the vehicle on which the lining element is installed. The packing element 2 according to the invention makes it possible to optimize the interior of a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle by using the available spaces. The curtain of the packing element is thus usable for aesthetic or informative functions. In addition the curtain 4 can be illuminated continuously and uninterrupted, including during the movement of the curtain 4 between its open and closed positions.
